David Smith-Parkin is a Senior Scientist in Translational Informatics at Molecule to Medicine (MTM), where he specialises in deriving meaningful insights from complex biological datasets to accelerate the discovery of life-changing therapeutics. His work is focussed on the integration of large-scale -omics and clinical datasets to streamline drug development. Currently, David supports Pathios Therapeutics first in class GPR65 program by analysing emerging biomarker data.
With a DPhil in Clinical Medicine and extensive post-doctoral experience, David applies multi-omics methods and AI to solve biological challenges. This includes characterising Hepatitis C Virus antiviral resistance, identifying resistant subtypes that informed clinical guidelines, and investigating dysregulated immune responses in severe COVID-19 and sepsis.
Prior to joining MTM, David worked as a Biological Data Scientist at Exscientia, specialising in target identification across the fields of oncology, immunology, and antivirals. He combines this deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset to ensure that programs successfully translate raw data into robust, data-driven progress.
